Minimoon

There is something special about your first get away as newlyweds. The whirlwind of a magical wedding has passed, your still buzzing from the good vibes, memories that will stay with you for a lifetime and endless smiles that have surrounded.

Inevitably though, the low comes after such a natural high and reality sets in. You soon realise that you have traveled to the far south of Tasmania, driven out of reception, completely away from the business of... well everythng, its cold and raining and you are setting up for the first night away in the dark with no clue what you are doing.

If you are anything like us, panic sets in and suddenly you fell out of your depth trying to figure it out. You can't help but feel a little bit sad and empty in some ways as you take stock and realise that your favourite people in the world who gathered for your big day are now dispersed in different directions leaving you with a mix of emotions.

You have a mini meltdown then just as quickly realise OH MY GOD WE ARE MARRIED! And suddenly you are riding the high again.

For us, everything became a novelty as newlyweds, were everything you do becomes firsts again ~ your first roadtrip,

your first coffee, your first hike, your first datenight.

Soon we were settled in, well rested and celebrating.

Our minimoon adventures started on Bruny Island where we spent our days going for walks, eating way too much, doing yoga sessions and checking out the stunning scenery.

Bruny is one of those little Tasmanian treasures. It is beautiful everywhere you look, small enough to venture across the whole island with different activities to do at every turn.

We were limited on time, though managed to fit a lot in. If you get a chance to ever make the trip, I would highly recommend that you ~

• Do as many walks as possible, you won't regret it

• Visit the art studios to collect a little masterpeice and support local talent

• Recharge your batteries at Jetty Beach campsite within the South Bruny National Park

• Endulge at the Bruny Island Cheese Company

• Have your fix of heritage at the Cape Bruny Lighthouse

• Walk amongst the pine tree giants at The Pines Camping Area

• Seek adventure on the seas with the Pennicott's Wilderness Journey, Bruny Island Cruises

• Take five and enjoy delicious food and wine at Bruny Island Premium Wines

• Let the chilly waters take your breath away and make you feel alive at the stunning beachesWarm up again at the beautiful berry farm.

And so, the first chapter of our mini moon of honey came to and end. Other chapters to come soon - stay tuned.
